Certified lab testing · not scare tactics

We don't test your water. An accredited lab does.

Hey, I'm Nate. I started Seminole Water Co because I got tired of watching people around here get sold water systems they didn't need. So we do it backwards from everyone else: your water goes to an independent lab, and you get the certified report, whether you ever buy a thing from me or not.

"In almost all of these cases, any water, even spring water, would 'fail' the company's test."

- Florida Attorney General's Office, warning homeowners about "free" in-home water tests

The state warns that in-home water "tests" are often sales tactics designed to find a problem. We agree. So we don't run one. Your water goes to an independent lab you can look up yourself, and the certified report is yours no matter what you decide.

Meet Nate

I live here. I work here. And when you call, you'll probably get me.

I moved down to Pinellas from Virginia, and the first thing I noticed was the water. It tasted off, and it was rough on my skin and hair. So I did what anyone would do. I went looking for someone to fix it.

Every company I found offered a "free water test." The more I dug, the more I realized not one of them was actually sending water to a lab. A real test costs money. What they were running was a sales call with a prop.

I couldn't find one company in this county that would just tell me what was in my water without selling me something in the same breath. So I built one.

Why we're different

Most companies guess. We measure.

This industry runs on kitchen-table demos with a color-changing kit, designed to make anyone's water look scary. We don't do that. Your water goes to a certified lab, and the results decide, not us.

The typical in-home demo

  • Meters and test strips used to scare you
  • A "free test" that somehow always finds a problem
  • Pressure to buy the biggest system tonight
  • Nothing on paper you can keep or check

How we do it

  • A real accredited lab (EPA/NELAP) runs the test
  • A certified report with your actual numbers
  • Only what your water calls for. Sometimes nothing
  • Paperwork tracking your sample start to finish, yours to keep

Certified Water Testing

The heart of how we work. A certified lab report on your actual water, the foundation for every recommendation.

See the process
How it works

From sample to solution

Four steps, no pressure. You get real answers first, and my opinion second.

Sample

I come get your water

About 15 minutes at your place. I collect the sample the way the lab requires and fill out the tracking form with you. You keep a copy.

Lab

A certified lab tests it

Your sample goes to an EPA/NELAP-accredited laboratory. One you can look up yourself. Results come back in 10–15 business days.

Report

We go through it together

I'll sit down and explain your numbers in plain English: what's high, what it actually means in your house, and what isn't worth worrying about.

Fix

Only what you need

If your water calls for something, I'll tell you exactly what and why, installed by a licensed plumber. If it doesn't, I'll tell you that too.

Notice what's not in there: me installing something in your kitchen the same afternoon. I don't carry systems in my truck to sell you on the spot. We test, we wait for the lab, then we talk.
My promises, in writing

I'm new here. So I'm not asking you to just take my word.

I put it in writing instead. Four promises that come with every system we install.

The Lab-Confirmed Result

After we install, we send a second sample to the same accredited lab. If the new report doesn't confirm the improvement we promised, we make it right, or remove the system and refund you.

The No-Damage Install

A licensed plumber does every installation. If our work damages your home, we repair it. No argument, no runaround.

60-Day Money Back

Live with your system for 60 days. If you're not satisfied, we take it out and refund what you paid.

A Real Person, for the Life of Your System

Call and a real person answers, for the life of your system, not just until the check clears.

Straight answers

Things people ask me all the time

No sales script. This is genuinely how I answer these on the phone.

Do I actually need a water softener?
Maybe. Honestly, anybody who tells you for sure before testing is guessing, including me. Let's find out what's in your water first, then decide.
Is my water dangerous?
Let's not guess at that one. We'll get the lab results back and look at the actual numbers together. Most of the time the answer is "it's fine, but it's hard". And that's a very different problem.
Can I just buy a system online?
Sure. And if that's the better move for your budget and your water, I'll tell you so. I'd rather you get the right thing than buy the wrong thing from me.
Are you going to try to sell me something in my kitchen?
No. I don't carry systems in the truck to install that day. I collect a sample, the lab does its work, and we talk when the report comes back, usually 10 to 15 business days later.
What if the test says my water is fine?
Then it's fine, you keep the report, and you've got an answer instead of a nagging question. That happens, and it's a perfectly good outcome.
Who's actually coming to my house?
Me. And if you decide to put a system in later, a licensed plumber I work with handles the install, not a subcontractor you've never heard of.
What's the catch on "free"?
There isn't one. It's free right now because I'm new here and I'd rather earn a neighborhood's worth of trust than squeeze a few hundred bucks out of a test. You're not on the hook for anything.

Curious what's actually in your water?

Let's find out. I'll come get a sample, send it to the lab, and sit down with you when the report comes back. It's free, and you're not obligated to buy a thing. Sometimes the report even says you don't need me.
